Wednesday evening Hiw many steps?!
The view from our bedroom this evening
After such a long and action packed day, we both feel we need to find somewhere to eat which in a small number of steps away, so enquire at hotel reception about the number of dining options available. Unfortunately, our favourite idea, teppanyaki is fully booked, so we opt for the sky restaurant at the top of the hotel. This means taking our usual lift up to floor 11, then an exclusive (!) lift up to floor 14, where we alight to be greeted by very smart member of staff who shows us to our table.
The floor is actually rotating very slowly, which is a bit disconcerting at first as I try to get my head round the way we are going, but we soon settle down to enjoy the ever changing view, which as it is a perfectly clear night, is just amazing.
We have a delicious meal of several small courses accompanied by some champagne to start with and a very good St Emillion. Our waiters are very good at explaining each dish (in varying levels of English, which is very helpful) and we all manage with hand gestures, lots of smiles and Google translate when all else fails!
