Hiroshima Out into the sunshine and cherry blossom

We couldn't have had a more devastating experience than to go around the museum, so it is with huge relief that we walk out into the sunshine and beautiful gardens where we are faced with some of the most colourful cherry blossom we have seen in all the time we have been here. It serves as a wonderful way to lift our spirits and we are all grateful for it.

This Japanese family are enjoying their picnic, complete with low Japanese style table.

A group of Japanese ladies enjoying their picnic of beautifully crafted bento boxes. I manage to have a conversation with them, they are all smiles and keen to try out their English.

Wandering through the park a little further we can see the Memorial Dome, the ruins of which serve as a memorial to the 140,000 people killed in 1945.
It seems right to finish with some views of the city as it is today.

and finally, one of our very smart coach driver and Japanese tour guide Hero.
